ABOUT US / Glenn Gottner

Describe your services:

Providing Traditional Chinese Martial Arts instruction for the individual as well as the community as a way of life to improve one’s health and wellness.

What are some benefits/results people see?

The results and benefits may vary from discipline to discipline, but in general the desired results from a health prospective include improved circulation, flexibility, coordination, internal strength, metal acuity, stress reduction and a general sense of well being and balance.

Describe a typical session and how someone might prepare for it.

The typical session is one hour in length, divided into three twenty-minute segments.  The session begins with gentle breathing exercises designed to relax the body and focus the mind while gently moving the body’s natural energy.  The first twenty minutes is the warm up for the particular style of movement that is being taught followed by twenty minutes of the new movement of the day, finishing with twenty minutes of practicing this particular sequence along with applications if necessary? The session will finish with gentle breathing exercises.  I recommend wearing loose, comfortable clothing along with lightweight smooth soled shoes.

What makes you different/good at what you do?

I have been fortunate to learn and study with a variety of exceptional Masters of Traditional Chinese Martial Arts that focused their attention on the preventative nature of these disciplines for the health and wellness of the individual.  This includes teaching students the proper foundation and necessary skills to enable them to continually build upon their achievements, adjusting the movements to fit the abilities of individual allowing them to reach their fullest potential.
